Midbrook Steel Buildings is excited to share the news that our very own Katie, Sales & Project Co-ordinator, is running the world-famous London Marathon on 23rd April 2023. We are incredibly proud of her for taking on this challenge and would like to share a little bit about why she’s doing it.

Katie London Marathon

Katie is running in honour of her Dad, who she sadly lost last year after a heroic fight following a past brain aneurysm, traumatic head injury and subsequent impairment. It’s an incredibly personal cause and one that is close to Katie’s heart.

As a Formula 1 enthusiast, Katie has chosen to join forces with Race Against Dementia, a charity founded by the legendary Jackie Stewart, to raise crucial funds for research and development in the race to find a prevention or treatment for Dementia.

Katie’s training for the marathon has been going amazingly well, despite the challenges of fitting it into her busy family and working life. She’s doing brilliantly and is on track to finish within her goal time (to cross the line alone, we’ll be beyond proud). We’re so impressed with her dedication and determination.

Katie has been very modest and quiet about this huge challenge as she doesn’t like much fuss but she deserves to be cheered on and get all the support possible. Midbrook Steel Buildings is proud to be sponsoring her for this fantastic cause.
