CAMBRIDGE BIOPOWER LTD

We recently supplied and fitted this steel framed building (9m x 20m x 5m to eaves) for Cambridge Biomass within 4 weeks from the initial enquiry.
Our robust galvanised steel frame can bolt directly down to a concrete slab, and with good access and safe working conditions the building was erected within a week.

Midbrook were approached by the client to recreate something similar to Collyer’s Nursery as they were hugely impressed with their building. The scope of works for this project was to supply and fit a portal framed building with insulated cladding, aluminium doors and windows with larch cladding.
Our groundworks team cleared an unused area and undertook a reduced level dig, completed floor and foundations for the new building. Created an outdoor sales area, laid new foul and storm drains, ran ducts for the new services and completed paving and surfacing.

Following on from our initial site survey, Midbrook was appointed to take on the full management of the new building. Midbrook’s in house planning specialist took care of all the planning work and organisation of a specialist flood risk assessment and level survey. Working on a restrictive busy site, Midbrook carried out the groundworks and associated drainage works, supplied and fitted the steelwork for the main structure and mezzanine flooring, insulated cladding and internal and external blockwork. In addition, Midbrook carried out first and second fix joinery work and mechanical and electrical works.

Midbrook were contacted to provide pad foundations, drainage works, steelworks and cladding. Building dimensions were 19 m x 60 m x 4.5 m to each with a side extension providing an additional size area of 12 m x 42 m.

Our broad range of building uses is demonstrated with the erection of the structural steelwork for a new village hall facility in Peldon. The Steelwork has been erected within in a week, with Roof cladding and brickwork to follow.

TARGET STATICAL

Following our initial site survey our client opted to take advantage of our quotation to carry out the groundworks and to supply and fit the building. This building was offered with a horizontal shiplap cladding. Midbrook Steel Buildings were contracted to carry out the supply and fit of the main frame and roof and wall cladding, whilst the internal work was carried out by others..

Midbrook carried out a site survey and submitted a planning application on their behalf, as well as obtaining a flood risk assessment as part of the application. Midbrook constructed pad foundations and a concrete slab for the control room lean to structure. Midbrook’s steel erection team supplied & fitted steelwork and single skin cladding.

COLLYERS BURSERIES

Midbrook had been recommended by some past clients and were approached by Collyers to design an eye catching and cost effective design for their new venture at their garden centre on the outskirts of Derby. Midbrook were able to come up with a solution using a steel stud & track framing system. Dimensions of the building were approximately 8m x 18m with a natural horizontal larch cladding. Midbrook’s scope of works for this project included: groundworks & drainage, main steel frame, insulated roof cladding timber wall cladding and the internal insulation and plasterboarding. The rest of the internal work was carried out by others.

STROODS SPECIALIST CONTRACTORS

The scope of works for this project for Midbrook was to supply and fit the main steelwork for the building and insulated cladding. Concrete slab and masonry work was carried out by others. The building dimensions were 12.4m x 28m and just over 6m to the eaves.

MIDAS CONSTRUCTION

A part of a larger project for main contractor Midas Construction, Midbrook were asked to supply Exeter Cricket Club with a replacement groundsman shed. Midbrook’s scope of work involved the construction of a new reinforced concrete slab and associated drainage work, and the supply and fit of the steelwork and cladding.

WILMOTT DIXON

Midbrook’s brief on this job was to supply the steel framework and insulated roof cladding. All the walls were constructed from brickwork and completed by others. Midbrook complied with all Health & Safety responsibilities as requested by the main contractor.

KK TOILETRIES

After carrying out a site survey in February 2015, we were contracted to offer a total project management package. From submission of a planning application and organising the discharging of conditions, Midbrook commenced work on site late Summer in 2015. The reinforced slab was constructed and the main framework and cladding work completed, internal fire-boarding work and external drainage works completed to our client’s satisfaction.

CAPITAL COMPACTORS

Midbrook were contracted to carry out the submission of the planning application on behalf of our clients and submission of building control. We constructed a reinforced concrete raft including a 3m square pit, followed by the supply & fit of steelwork and insulated cladding. Internal work involved included internal blockwork, fire boarding and internal first and second fix joinery.

AP METALISING

Midbrook were employed to carry out the groundworks, supply and fit of the main frame and cladding, together with a mezzanine floor and fireboarding. The project was completed during the summer of 2015, and was completed within a tight programme.

P HART FENCING

A slightly different project for Midbrook to take on, we were asked to supply a roof covering spanning over existing concrete walls. After consultation with our design team we delivered a large canopy to cover the plant and machinery underneath. In addition to this we also supplied a groundworks package and an L shaped storage building on the same site. Another building supplied to our customers satisfaction.

BOOKHAM RIFLE CLUB

Midbrook were contracted to carry out the groundworks and the supply and fit of the steelwork and cladding. Working to a very bespoke design and experiencing difficult access issues to the site, Midbrook’s experienced team managed to complete the project under challenging circumstances to a high standard and within the quoted figure.

BULLWELL PRECISION ENGINEERING

Midbrook were instructed to offer our client a full turnkey solution, including construction of a reinforced raft foundation and yard area. The supply & fit of the main steelwork, mezzanine steelwork and cladding formed part of the contract. Mechanical & Electrical work was sub-contracted to Arc Mechanical and Midbrook carried out internal first and second fix joinery, plastering, ceiling and flooring work.

Midbrook were employed by the canoe club to supply and fit a bespoke designed steel framed building measuring approx. 8m x 21 including a full length mezzanine floor, insulated roof and an attractive vertical larch fire retardant cladding.

RHF FANS LTD

Our client had an urgent requirement at their premises for an additional covered storage facility. Constructed on the existing concrete yard area in Manchester. The building dimensions were 15m span x 30m x 4.5m to the eaves, clad with a single skin cladding, this project was completed within a 2 week construction period.

Our brief was to construct a reinforced raft foundation for our client and to supply a robust storage facility, measuring 8m x 15m x 4.3m to the eaves with a rollershutter door and personnel door.

GUILDFORD ARCHERY CLUB

Our brief was to carry out the groundworks, including a reinforced raft foundation and pathway, liaise with building control, and to supply & fix a single skin building for the archery club. Building dimensions were 7.2m x 12.5m with mono pitch roof design. Internal works and fit out were done by others.

LUBET ENGINEERING LTD

Our brief was to provide a pad foundation design and to provide brickwork at the bottom of the building. The building was a lean-to structure adjoining one of the main factory buildings, dimensions 10m x 22m x 6.5m to the eaves with a mono pitch.

VICTOR & SARAH CREW

We were approached to build an American barn style construction, with a steel portal frame design, brickwork and a larch wood cladding and a tiled roof. A bespoke design project with attention to detail was paramount.

WILSDON SIPP FUND

We were commissioned to supply an 18m x 27.5 x 5m to eaves fully insulated steel framed building. We also provided the groundworks for the project and an additional concrete yard area 7m x 27m and affiliated foul and rainwater drainage requirements.

THE ORATORY PREPARATORY SCHOOL

We were contracted to supply a total project management package, this involved the groundworks, supply and fit of the buildings, internal fit out, connection of utilities, Mechanical & Electrical works and internal decoration and construction of a concrete yard area. The project was completed within a 14 week programme, we acted as the main contractor on this project.

RAILWAY VEHICLE PRESERVATION SOCIETY 

Swithland, Leicestershire

We were contracted to supply & fit a dual pitch building 19m x 65m long the majority of the building was single skin cladding apart from one elevation that was insulated cladding and the columns were fire boarded to comply with building regulations. The building was fixed to individual pads and the train track put in position once we had fitted the steel frame work. This project was completed within a 5 week programme.

Our client was let down at the last minute by an alternative supplier, we managed to exceed their expectations and design and build the structure to meet with their project deadlines. Working to a tight programme, we completed the supply & fit of the 12m x 20m x 6.5m to the eaves. Fully insulated and incorporating a mezzanine floor with 38mm chipboard and stairs. This particular project was completed within a 4 week timeframe.

D&J STORAGE 

Radstock near Bath

Our brief on this project was to arrive on site to a pre-prepared concrete slab by others, and to supply and fit a fully insulated building 12m wide 42m long and 6m to the eaves. Internally we supplied a mezzanine floor with 38mm chipboard flooring covering 38m of the internal floor area incorporating two sets of access stairs fully compliant with Part K of building regulations.

KIER SHEFFIELD LLP

Our scope of works for this project involved the supply & fit of a steel framed building structure 15m x 47m x 5m to the eaves and related fire boarding of columns. Adhering to Kiers health & safety conditions we managed to complete the build within a 4 week programme, which was completed within the time frame specified in the project.

We had previously supplied our client with a building, however due to continued expansion, we were asked to reposition and extend the previous building and then build a new separate structure 19m x 33m x 6m to the eaves. The contract was completed within an 8 week period and to the customer’s satisfaction.

We were asked to provide a solution for a canopy style building and also a waste storage building and to incorporate groundworks and brickwork for both projects. The projects were delivered within the necessary timeframes and their on-site strict health and safety policies were adhered to.

Our client requested a total turnkey solution to provide a reinforced concrete raft foundation, and a building 15m x 30m 5m to the eaves, fully insulated and with 1m course of brickwork. In addition the client has had a further three buildings to manage the demand of clients expansion programme.

P HART FENCING  

Tamworth, West Midlands

Our client had a requirement for an additional storage facility for on-site machinery and plant. Groundworks were constructed by others after the contractor had liaised with our contracts manager to provide them with an accurate slab layout drawing. The buildings dimensions were 9m x 12m 3m to the eaves and the cladding specified was a KSRW1000 panel with a core thickness of 40mm. The build took a total of 5 days from start to finish, not including internal fit out done by others.

Approached directly by the end user, we became involved from the outset of this project with a design and build solution to meet our clients specific requirements. We acquired full planning consent and building regulation approval on behalf of our client and carried out a scope of works that involved the demolition of an existing building, reinforced raft foundations and drainage works, together with the supply & fit of three industrial units both single skin and insulated buildings. BAB motors were extremely happy with the end result and our project management services meant that they could carry no focussing on their day to day business affairs with minimal interruptions

With a fast deadline to complete this project in time for the first intake of trainee marine engineers, Midbrook Steel Buildings were recommended to the college to deliver a groundworks & building package within a tight four week programme. With additional resources, the site was cleared and the reinforced concrete raft foundation completed within a week, followed by a tight three week build programme for our insulated building measuring 15m x 30m x 4m to the eaves. GILLARDS WORLDWIDE WAREHOUSING

We were contracted to design and construct a reinforced concrete slab and carry out affiliated drainage works, and to provide a steel warehousing building 16.1m x 28m x 4.2m to the eaves. The building is a fully insulated structure with a rollershutter access door and PA and fire doors. Following on from the success of this project we were asked to provide a second building together with groundworks drainage and internal blockwork measuring 14m x 20m x 5m to the eaves.

We were contracted directly by the Scout group to provide a reinforced insulated slab design and related drainage, a fully insulated 7m x 21m x 2.4m to the eaves building with internal joinery and masonry work. After helping our client satisfy various conditions stipulated in their planning consent, we finally got to site and constructed a cost effective solution for their needs.

Budget constraints led to our client looking for a more cost effective storage solution. With a planning application already approved for a similar but albeit more costly structure, our client managed to amend the application accordingly to the Midbrook building design. With restrictive site access and working to a sloping concrete slab prepared by others our skilled team of erectors managed to overcome these difficulties to provide our client with a strong robust and durable storage facility.

Midbrook were approached directly by the school bursar, who had been given the task of procuring a building that was functional and fit for purpose, however more cost effective than a traditionally built structure. After our site appraisal and the client travelling to see a similar building, we had done enough to convince him that our insulated steel galvanised portal frame structure was the way forward. Our construction package included: the construction and design of a reinforced concrete raft, supply and fit of the building including a range of windows, rollershutter doors and access doors. The project was completed within the timescales requested and to the satisfaction of the school.
